Kea'au Christmas Parade

Don’t miss your opportunity to participate in the 10th Annual Kea`au Village Lighted Parade on Saturday, December 14, 2013. This year’s theme is “A Very Green Christmas – Think Green: reduce, reuse, recycle”. The Kea’au Lighted parade starts at Kea`au High School at 5:30pm, and continues on Kea`au -Pahoa Road through the village, where judges will be watching to rate the creative efforts of as many as 50 floats, marching bands, and more! This year’s Grand Marshal is Mayor Billy Kenoi. The deadline to submit a participant packet to be a part of the parade is November 29th. Don’t delay, get your packet today to join the 10th Annual Kea’au Christmas parade. Participant packets can be picked up at Keaau Village Market, or by emailing email@example.com. Keahou Bird Conservation Center Annual Open House

The Keauhou Bird Conservation Center is holding their annual open house onDecember 14 and 15, 2013. The facility is located near the Volcano Golf Course. Don’t miss this once a year opportunity to get an up close look at some of Hawaii’s rarest birds and learn about our avian conservation efforts. Some of the birds you will see: ’Alala (Hawaiian Crow), Palila, Kiwikiu (Maui Parrotbill) and Puaiohi (Small Kauai Thrush).
